What are the Pull Rates?

With Black Bolt and White Flare, it feels like every other pack has something special inside.

Around one out of every two packs of Black Bolt or White Flare will give you a hit. That is, when you count Secret Rares plus the Poké Ball and Master Ball reverse foils (these foils show up at Prismatic Evolutions–like rates and now appear alongside Illustration Rares). Illustration Rares pop ~1 in 6 packs, which is about twice as often as Scarlet & Violet base (1 in 13) and Destined Rivals (1 in 12)—but because there are so many different IRs, pulling a specific one is still tough.

The new Black White Rares (Zekrom ex, Reshiram ex, and the two red Victini) are the big chases—none showed up in 700+ packs, so the exact odds are unknown but clearly very rare.

Final Thoughts

Is White Flare Worth it?

TL;DR: If you love Unova Pokémon, stunning alternate art, and solid pull odds, White Flare is a definite yes!

White Flare brings back classic charm and wide appeal—you get a set with illustration rares for every single Unova Pokémon, plus the Poké Ball and Master Ball reverse foils we saw in Prismatic.

Pull rates are generous too: about 1 in 6 packs gives you an Illustration Rare—roughly twice as common as in past Scarlet & Violet sets. But despite more pulls, many still aren’t landing any SIRs.

It’s an amazing set but be prepared that completing the full Unova art collection—or grabbing the ultra-rare chase cards—will still take a lot of time, luck, and maybe some singles shopping.
