What are the Pull Rates?
In short: A big set with tougher pulls.
Surging Sparks is a big set with a lot of awesome cards, but pulling the ones you really want will be tough.
While the general pull rates for rarities like Double Rares, Ultra Rares, and Illustration Rares remain familiar, what stands out is the scarcity of Hyper Rares. And with 61 Secret Rares to compete for those coveted slots, your odds of pulling any specific card—like the popular SIR Pikachu ex—are quite low. To put it into perspective, pulling Pikachu ex is as lucky as getting SIR Greninja ex from Twilight Masquerade. If you're after a golden Hyper Rare or a flashy Special Illustration Rare, be prepared for a challenge, as the odds are significantly lower than in past sets.
Is Surging Sparks Worth it?
TL;DR: Surging Sparks is a must-have for collectors, with stunning artwork and some seriously valuable chase cards, though the pull rates can be tough.
Surging Sparks is a visual treat. The set features gorgeous cards like the Pikachu ex SIR, Latias ex, and Milotic ex, all with artwork that ties together in a way that makes them even more special. On top of the beautiful designs, the set introduces a fresh mix of Lightning- and Dragon-type Pokémon, which is a nice change. The downside? The pull rates for the rarer cards are definitely tougher—getting a Hyper Rare card is about 1 in 188 packs. So while this set may have you buying singles, even if you don’t pull the top cards, the set is packed with gems that are worth adding to your collection.
