What are the Pull Rates?
It’s easy to see why the set is called Evolving Cries.
Most packs won’t give you much—only about 1 in 4 packs has an Ultra Rare, and usually it’s just a basic V.
The real chase cards are brutally rare: Full Arts show up ~1 in 36 packs, Alt-Art Vs ~1 in 91, and Alt-Art VMAX cards a staggering ~1 in 332. That’s why the famous Umbreon VMAX (“Moonbreon”) is estimated at 1 in 2,000 packs, making it one of the hardest pulls in modern Pokémon history. Compared to Scarlet & Violet sets, where even the toughest cards fall around 1 in 900–1,000 packs, Evolving Skies takes difficulty to another level—making it a set that’s exciting when you hit, but heartbreaking when you don’t.
Is Evolving Skies Worth it?
TL;DR: 100% — Evolving Skies is the collector set of the Sword & Shield era, and highly recommended to anyone who loves alternate arts! With one catch…
It’s packed with some of the most iconic cards of the modern hobby: Umbreon VMAX “Moonbreon,” Rayquaza VMAX, and a lineup of Eeveelution alts that look amazing together in a binder.
BUT the set is huge, which makes pulling what you want a real challenge. Hey, that’s part of what’s kept it so exciting — every big hit feels like a win. So if you’re looking for the crown jewel of Sword & Shield for artwork and chase cards, Evolving Skies is the one to go for.
