Final Thoughts

Is Sword & Shield Worth it?

TL;DR: Absolutely — this is where the Sword & Shield era began, the Base Set is worth opening a few packs!

It’s the debut of Pokémon V and VMAX, with some real standouts like Zacian V, Snorlax VMAX, and of course Charizard making an appearance. The artwork leans classic over flashy, but it does a great job of introducing the Galar region in card form. Pull rates aren’t the easiest, but there’s a nice mix of playable trainers (like Marnie) and iconic Pokémon that make it fun to rip a few packs or grab an ETB.

If you’re mainly collecting for the artwork and nostalgia, singles might be the cheaper way to go — but opening a little sealed product gives you that “start of a new era” vibe that’s hard to beat.
